Privacy Policy

Effective 2026-10-16

WhoTap is an offline party game from Luis Suárez, who operates under the name Luewell (“Luewell,” “we,” “us”). You don’t need an account, and your settings stay on your device. This policy explains what limited information WhoTap processes and how it is handled.

In short
  • No account needed — we never ask for your name, email, or profile.
  • Your settings and game preferences are stored only on your device.
  • Nothing about the players — not names, finger positions, or who was picked — is stored or sent anywhere.
  • The free app shows Google AdMob ads between rounds, never during a round, and asks for your choice where the law requires it.
  • The only purchase, “WhoTap Pro,” is optional, processed by Apple, and managed through RevenueCat.
  • We don’t ask to track you, and we don’t sell your data.

1. Information we process

WhoTap works without an account or sign-in. We do not ask for your name, email address, or any profile information. Your settings (such as language, theme, sound, music, vibration, speed, and visual effects), your game preferences (such as the last mode you played), and whether “WhoTap Pro” is active are stored only on your device. We never receive this information and do not run servers that store it.

2. During a round

To pick players, WhoTap reads where fingers touch the screen. These touch positions are processed only in your device’s memory during the round and are discarded when it ends. The pick is made at random on your device, and the questions and challenges are bundled with the app: players don’t type, record, or upload anything.

WhoTap does not ask for access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone, or photos. Sound effects and vibration need no permission.

3. Advertising

The free app shows full-screen ads between rounds — at most one every five finished rounds, only after you tap “Play again,” and never during a round. The ads are served by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, limit how often you see the same ad, and prevent fraud, Google’s software in the app may collect your IP address and approximate location, device and app information, and information about the ads you see and tap, as described in Google’s Privacy Policy.

WhoTap does not ask for permission to track you (App Tracking Transparency), so Apple’s advertising identifier (IDFA) is not available to it. Advertisers may measure ad results through Apple’s SKAdNetwork, which reports campaign results without identifying you.

Before any ad is requested, the app uses Google’s consent tool to check whether a privacy message is required where you are. Where the law requires it, the message lets you consent to or refuse personalized ads, or opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for personalized ads. When a message applies to you, you can review or change your choice at any time in Settings → Legal → Ad privacy. Buying “WhoTap Pro” stops ads from being shown.

4. Purchases

WhoTap offers one optional in-app purchase, “WhoTap Pro,” a one-time purchase that today removes ads. It is processed by Apple through the App Store; Luewell never receives your payment card or Apple ID. To manage the purchase, we use the purchase management service RevenueCat.

RevenueCat acts on our behalf and receives a randomly generated, anonymous app user identifier, the App Store purchase information needed to determine your access (the product, purchase date, status, and any refund), and your device model, operating system, app version, and diagnostic information about its software. It does not receive your name, processes this information in the United States, and uses it only to operate and validate your purchase.

No sign-in is needed: “WhoTap Pro” is unlocked on the device where you buy it, and you can restore it on your other devices that use the same Apple ID with “Restore purchases” in Settings → Purchases. If Apple refunds the purchase, the app removes the unlock the next time it checks.

5. What we don’t do

  • We do not track your activity across other apps or websites.
  • We do not use analytics, crash reporting, or push notifications.
  • There is no chat, online play, or contact with other players.
  • We do not sell your data to data brokers.

6. Data retention and deletion

Your settings live on your device; uninstalling WhoTap removes them from that device. “WhoTap Pro” stays with your Apple ID and can be restored at any time. Purchase information is retained while the RevenueCat record linked to your device remains active. Your ad consent choice is saved on your device by Google’s consent tool until you change it or delete the app, and advertising data collected by Google is kept according to Google’s policies.

7. Children’s privacy

WhoTap is intended for people aged 13 and over. It is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child under 13 has used WhoTap, contact us and we will help you remove the app’s data and stop personalized ads on that device.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective” date above. Significant changes will be reflected on this page.
